The House-Rawlings FuneralHome business continued to grow and in 1987, construction began on a newfuneral home next door to the home on East Fourth Street. Tommy was so patient and kind when we met to discuss the arrangements, and offered advice and help when we didn't know what to do. Doug Salyers, Mike Dixon, and Annie Parker each played a very important role in making sure we were satisfied with all aspects of the process of planning Darrell's funeral. Each one, with their different talents and skills, worked so well together to accomplish their goal to make sure everything was perfect.Doug did such a beautiful job with all the computer work. The coroner/medical examiner will be notified by hospice. Following their release the hospice will contact the funeral home. It is always a good idea for the family to contact us immediately so that we will be aware of the pending call from hospice. However, if the death occurs in a residence and no one is there at the time of death, the police will need to be notified and respond to the residence before the deceased is removed from their home.
